interesting nonsense from the catholic scripture The Book of Wisdom

The Wisdom of Solomon blames Satan and non-Jews for sin and evil and turns the Jews virtually into impeccable saints and lights to the world. β€œ Read this bit from chapter 10. It was Wisdom who delivered a holy people, a blameless race, from a nation of oppressors. She entered the soul of a servant of the Lord, and withstood fearsome kings with wonders and signs. To the holy people she gave the wages of their labours; she guided them by a marvellous road, herself their shelter by day -- and their starlight through the night. She brought them across the Red Sea, leading them through an immensity of water, whereas she drowned their enemies, then spat them out from the depths of the abyss.

It denies love the sinner and hate the sin,. Wisdom chapter 14

β€œ7 For blessed is the wood which serves the cause of uprightness

8 but accursed the man-made idol, yes, it and its maker, he for having made it, and it because, though perishable, it has been called god.

9 For God holds the godless and his godlessness in equal hatred;

10 both work and workman will alike be punished.

No wonder its theme is gloating over the terrible fate of the Egyptians who oppressed Israel.

This book properly belongs in the New Testament if it belongs in the Bible at all. It is a terrible dating error on the part of the Catholic Church to regard a book written after Jesus had fulfilled the Old Testament as part of that very Testament! Jesus is conspicuous in the book by his absence though there is a similar use of mythology. Or is it the case that Jesus is the myth in the book? The author in the book claims to have supernatural wisdom of all things specifically science! And who says the Bible authorities never claimed to know science!

Chapter 7 goes, β€œHe it was who gave me sure knowledge of what exists, to understand the structure of the world and the action of the elements, 18 the beginning, end and middle of the times, the alternation of the solstices and the succession of the seasons, 19 the cycles of the year and the position of the stars, 20 the natures of animals and the instincts of wild beasts, the powers of spirits and human mental processes, the varieties of plants and the medical properties of roots. 21 And now I understand everything, hidden or visible, for Wisdom, the designer of all things, has instructed me. 22 For within her is a spirit intelligent, holy, unique, manifold, subtle, mobile, incisive, unsullied, lucid, invulnerable, benevolent, shrewd, 23 irresistible, beneficent, friendly to human beings, steadfast, dependable, unperturbed, almighty, all-surveying, penetrating all intelligent, pure and most subtle spirits. 24 For Wisdom is quicker to move than any motion; she is so pure, she pervades and permeates all things.
