EVOLUTION IS SCIENCE AND RELIGION IS ANTI-SCIENCE

The theory of evolution should be called the theory of change. It is not strictly speaking evolution.  The reality is that some creatures survive but at the expense of of countless others.  There is no real progress there.  Progress is measured by looking at the whole portrait not just a section of it.

It is not science to read a text and imagine gaps in it to fill with science.  Genesis says that the human female was the last creature God made.  Man was already there and the animals.  There are no gaps but religion lies that there is.  Then you hear rubbish such as, "We know it says God made him from the dust but this is not detailed.  We are all made from dust ultimately.  Adam could have evolved from whatever the apes evolved from and still be said to be made from dust."  Do you really suppose in those days that the writer was not thinking of God taking dust and turning it into a man there and then?

Evolution is such a big truth that its absence from the Bible would mean opposition.  A maths teacher who avoids talking about multiplication is not a maths teacher.  And she has something against it.

It is against how the Bible sees us as in the image of God and thus creatures who should love one another as ourselves.  It is against the Bible doctrine given by God to Moses that argues that far from being natural, harming others unjustly shows the presence of some evil that can only be eradicated by stoning the person to death.  If a man lieth with man it is a great evil so stone them to purge the evil from your midst.

Richard Dawkins says that many religious teachers and promoters wish to take advantage and are con artists.  But he says most are not at least in any major way.  For that reason he thinks religion has something to do with safety and survival, ie evolution.  He points to the courage one might get from thinking they are doing God's work.  And survival depends on being in a tribe of some form so we all need others.  Religion is notoriously tribal.  I would point out that there are tribal overlaps.  For example, Muslims, Christians and Jews despite their hatred of each other, will still defend faith in God so they are a loose tribe in that sense.  They are clear tribes within that less obvious tribe.

Now if your motive to promote and stay in your religion is safety then you are calling what is outside of that religion a threat.  Divisiveness will happen.  And all clerics and teachers are con-artists in so far as they make out it is about the supernatural and prayer and love. It is not sweet at all.

Christian religion claims that if you dehumanise or reduce the humanity of persons by calling them animals or rats, it is easy to break down people's reluctance to destroy them.  Your influence spreads.  We talk about how evil thrives when the good say nothing.  The good in fact are more often than happy that you are doing the dirty work for them.  That is why they permit you to speak of others as sub-human. Silence is permission.  Even if you cannot speak for some reason, your silence will be taken as encouragement.   When you abuse another without calling them degrading names, you are showing that you proclaim them inferior.  It is just as effective if not more as actually sticking some "outcast" or "for the bin" message on them.

Not all religions agree with this.  Hinduism considers the intersection between human and animals sacred.  There are elephant gods.  The Egyptians worshipped deities who were animal and human combined.

Notice that the claim that if you call people say wolves you are making it easier for them to be tortured or killed assumes that we are already inclined to slaughter and brutalise animals, even the more advanced ones.  We are told that if we say we love animals that our love is a lot more shallow than we think.

Animals eat and kill each other.  If we are animals we need no encouragement to do that.  Christianity by blaming language is only doing what it usually does.  It pretends to have solutions.

Science says we are indeed animals.  Every species is a pick and mix of others.  Clearly Christianity is saying science is evil.

Science also finds that if you see yourself as something bigger than an animal, something different, something better then calling other

Science and human nature want to understand the universe not just how it works. Science simply finds that the universe is not made for us. We are not really an evolution in the sense of a progression for we have destroyed so many species and done so much damage to our planet and one day billions will die because of our reckless choices. How arrogant are we if we see ourselves as evolved in the progressive sense? How dangerous it is is to think that for we are in danger of being wiped out and our body types are made in such a way that they make us vulnerable to disappearing.

Not only does the theory of change deny that God is God or important by ignoring him it says he did not make us out of love if he did make us.

Religion says that it is about understanding the universe while science is about how the universe works. That is a lie. Philosophy is not religion and it is what wonders about the why the universe questions. Religion cannot hijack philosophy and call that religious.

To turn science into something mechanical - about only how things work - is telling science that if its tools can help it understand why the universe exists then it should not go there! That shows religion does not respect science at all but gives it lip service.

The Bible's entire outlook excludes evolution.  It is not just about a few texts.  It is either science or the Bible.
